The Spark for Texoligy

I believe that my career benefited greatly from my education experience at the Institute of Textile Technology (ITT).  What I found unique about this experience is, we were taught not only the fundamentals of all textile processes, but also the theory of each and how they work and to engineer processes successfully.  Most importantly, we were taught how to take what we know and think on our feet to solve problems.

During my 30+ years working and traveling in the industry, I have found that this type of experience is disappearing and leaving the industry, making it difficult to train the next generation. The textile industry is not going away, it is here to stay.  However, the industry struggles to find highly qualified talent to help it evolve and problem solve today’s opportunities and challenges.  I want to make sure the industry has the trained talent it needs to succeed.

This is why I have created Texoligy.  I am passionate about teaching and passing on what I was fortunate enough to have passed on to me.  I intend to do this in a way where it can be done sustainably, so the next generation and after have a place to learn the knowledge required to be successful.  Join me on this journey as we create the standard for textile training and certification of Textile Technologists.
